Hiking and Biking Trails
While we’re not ones to brag, we can’t help but crow a little about our hiking and biking trails. Sure, there are plenty of places to do both in the region but few can compare to the breathtaking landscape of Wytheville and Wythe County.
Among the most popular are Big Walker Mountain Trail, New River State Park, and Crystal Springs. It doesn’t matter which you choose, there is little doubt that you will thoroughly enjoy the sights and sounds of our many adventurous trails.
TIP: Green numbers correspond to green map numbers on the outdoor recreation map.
HYDRATION: Make sure to take plenty of water (3 liters minimum per day), snacks, first aid kit, cell phone or other means of emergency communication device, dress appropriately for the weather and elevation change (gain 1,000 feet in elevation, temperatures drop 7-10 degrees) and make a good plan for each outdoor excursion.
